Tamineh (Tami) Roshanian is an active member of the California Bar (admitted in January 1989) and a graduate of Hastings College of the Law (JD, June 1988) and UCLA (BA 1985, Major in Economics and Latin American Studies). She is also a member of the DC Bar (admitted in 1994) and a practicing Solicitor in England (from 2004-2016). She has practiced commercial and business law in California and internationally for local and international clients while based in Los Angeles, CA (1988-1992), Washington DC (1992-1997), London (1997-2016) and Uzbekistan (1992-2005 while traveling back and forth), working for small and large international law firms as wells as her own practice in various jurisdictions.

Tami’s current practice in California includes corporate, commercial and business transactions & litigation, including complex fraud cases; real estate and construction litigation, trusts, probate and estates planning and litigation, mergers & acquisition, trade contracts law and finance, and business and property finance. Tami has handled cases in Los Angles, Orange, Kern, Santa Barbara, Monterey, San Mateo, Stanislaus and Lake Counties in California as well as in Federal Court, Northern District.

She also advises a script writer to produce a film, and a few inventors and technology innovators in startup phase, providing outside in-house legal services and assisting in contract preparation and negotiations. She is a Board member of the Build a Better World Foundation.

Tami’s transactional work includes drafting all types of commercial contracts, licensing agreements, assisting clients to obtain financing for their projects, setting up companies and structuring startup companies with ownership of innovative technologies.

Tami’s Long Legal History

Tami’s long career and work experience include international transactions; commodity trade transactions, corporate and company law; contracts and business negotiation and structuring including joint ventures, partnerships, agency, mergers and acquisitions, start-ups and technology transfer; equity and debt finance as well as emerging new finance alternatives for start-ups; property law and commercial landlord/tenant; commodity trading transactions; mediation, arbitration and litigation of commercial disputes including complex fraud — with expertise in all aspects of aviation (acquisition, lease, finance and registration of aircraft); oil & gas & mining related contracts; construction and other industries.

Tami started her law career in Los Angeles from 1988 until 1992, doing construction and real estate law and litigation. She then started expanding her vision and working on cross border transactions in the newly independent states of Central Asia after the breakup of the former Soviet Union. She spent 15 years from 1990-2005, representing various state owned entities of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the aviation and airport development sector (buying, leasing and finance of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, construction and redevelopment of airport terminal, tower and runways), gold mining and other natural resources joint ventures and finance, technology transfer licensing agreements, and all types of commercial contracts, in addition to being involved in the development of new laws and regulatory framework. It was during this period that she collaborated with an amazing group of attorneys and business executives from all over the world to deliver results to her clients. She learnt to build teams, while working with enterprise leaders and top government officials. She became a de facto outside in-house counsel to her clients, needing solutions to variety of difficult legal issues that were emerging from transition from a centrally planned economy to a market based economy.

Tami practiced commercial law and litigation in London after being admitted as a solicitor in the United Kingdom from 2004 until 2016. During this period she worked with prominent barristers handling high profile cases in complex commercial fraud cases, seizure of aircraft and assets, and property and trusts related litigation. During this period, she handled international commercial arbitration cases as well as complex project finance matters, in addition to drafting and negotiating an extensive range of commercial and financing contracts and property sale and purchase transactions for clients based in the UK and internationally. She also served on a Non-profit committee helping individuals in business succession and estate planning, provide trustee services, and resolve wills and trust related disputes.
