Darren Watts is an experienced South Jordan estate planning attorney who has been helping clients for nearly two decades. Darren has an impressive background, having practiced in family law, bankruptcy law, criminal law as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, contract law, employment law, business law, personal injury, and general litigation. Darren’s journey to becoming an attorney was not a typical one. He received his Bachelor of Music from Brigham Young University School of Music, where he competed in and advanced to the regional finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. At the same time, he earned a commission in the US Army through the ROTC and shipped off to complete his military service in Germany, where he deployed to peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Kosovo. After his service in the Army, he went back to school and earned his Juris Doctor from Rueben Clark Law School at BYU.

Darren is now admitted to practice in Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, and Colorado, and Alaska (inactive). In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife and four talented and somewhat rowdy teenagers to out-of-the-way locations to explore what there is to see. Additionally, he spends his Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, as well as other times throughout the year, with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and intends to do so until they tell him he is too old.

With his extensive experience in various areas of law, he has a unique perspective that allows him to provide the best possible advice and guidance to his clients. His background, both as a musician and a veteran, has also given him a broad perspective on life, which he brings to his work as an attorney.
