A lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley, Ralph J. Bellafatto graduated from Easton High School in 1978 and received his B.A. degree from Muhlenberg College in 1982.  He received his legal education at the George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, D.C., receiving his Juris Doctor degree with honors in 1985.
Following law school he returned home to Northampton County to serve as law clerk to Judge Robert A. Freedberg, before becoming associated with Teel, Stettz, Shimer & DiGiacomo, Ltd. in 1986.  From 1988-1991 he also served Northampton County as Assistant District Attorney prosecuting all levels of felony and misdemeanor offenses.  He remained with TSS&D, engaging in a widely-varied legal practice, concentrating in personal injury and defense litigation, and was made partner in 1994.

He left TSS&D in 1997 to open his own general practice, concentrating in personal injury litigation, and has maintained a private practice since that time.

He is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania state courts, the United States Eastern and Middle District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  He is a member of the Northampton County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and a former member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, the American Inns of Court, and the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association.

He participates in the Bar Association’s Mock Trial Program, coaching local high school participants as legal advisor.  He is the Solicitor for the Easton Emergency Squad, the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the National SOKOLS in Bethlehem.  Additionally, he has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Easton Police Athletic League, as well as having coached many years in various municipal sports in Forks Township where he currently resides with his wife Lois, and their children.
