Michelle grew up in Roseau and started working with her now-retired father, Patrick D. Moren, as a summer intern when she was 12 years old. Following graduation from William Mitchell College of Law in 1991, Michelle returned to Roseau and started practicing law with her father.
In 1995, Michelle started a 12-year stint as the elected Roseau County Attorney. She returned to private practice with her father in 2007, to help him start the retirement process.
Michelle served as the interim Lake of the Woods County Attorney on a part-time basis from June of 2007 through December of 2010, and again for a period in 2013-2014. Michelle is the current Attorney for the City of Roseau, and also the Roseau River Watershed District Attorney.
Michelle is engaged in the general practice of law and works with clients on a multitude of legal matters, including, but not limited to, estate planning, agricultural law, contracts, businesses, real estate, civil litigation, criminal defense, and probate matters.
Michelle is married, and she and her husband have one son who will be attending law school in the fall of 2021. The family enjoys traveling and attending Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Vikings sporting events. Michelle also enjoys playing hockey as a goalie with various “old timer” teams in Roseau.
