Maria Martinez is the managing partner of Rushing & Guice and has earned a reputation for providing sound counsel and meticulous representation. She is admitted to practice in many courts, both state and federal, including the United States Court of International Trade. On May 1, 2017, Maria was admitted to practice and argue cases before the United States Supreme Court.
A native of Raceland, Louisiana, Maria earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She received her Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1994.
In 2008, Maria was honored as one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women by the Mississippi Business Journal. The Journal also named her one of Mississippi’s Top 40 Under 40 Young Business Leaders in 2007. The local chapter of the American Business Women’s Association honored Martinez, a two-term president, as its Woman of the Year in 2006. She was also chosen as a member of the Gulf Coast Business Council Research Foundation’s 2012 Masters Class and the Coast Chamber’s Leadership Gulf Coast Class of 2014.
Maria belongs to several bar associations and is active in both professional and charitable organizations. Maria has served on various committees with the Ocean Springs Rotary Club and has served as President of the Southeast Land Title Association and President of CASA of Harrison and Stone Counties.
