Mr. Miller received his J.D. from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law, Macon, Georgia, in 1978, where he was Assistant Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review. He also received an L.L.M. in Taxation from Emory University School of Law in 1980. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1970 and served in the United States Army (RA) from 1970 to 1975, rising to the rank of Captain.
Mr. Miller has published articles in the Mercer Law Review and is a member of the American Bar Association, Macon Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia, and National Association of Bond Lawyers. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of The Salvation Army (Macon Corps), President of the Macon Lions Club, Chairman of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Macon, President of the Macon Estate Planning Council, and Chairman of the Bibb County Training Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
Mr. Miller and his wife, Cathy, have been married for over fifty years and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
