Firm Summary

Kimbro Stephens, hailing from Conway, Arkansas, envisioned a future steeped in altruism, drawing inspiration from his pioneering parents—a distinguished medical professional and a renowned football coach. Despite harboring teenage dreams of making a meaningful impact, Kimbro’s trajectory towards elder law unfolded unexpectedly. Graduating cum laude with an economics degree from Harvard University and subsequently obtaining a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law, he navigated through healthcare before finding his niche in elder law.

Kimbro’s parents, Wanda Ward Stephens, M.D., and Ken Stephens, instilled in him the ethos of investing in others. His mother’s counsel, “It’s not what you say but how you say it,” left an indelible mark on him. Post-graduation in 1988, where he excelled academically and actively contributed to legal publications, Kimbro collaborated with his mother to establish the groundbreaking Living Hope Institute, a Christian psychiatric hospital. Over two decades in hospital administration and executive healthcare management honed his passion for aiding those in crisis, paving the way for him to become a healthcare executive, CEO, and General Counsel.

A turning point arose when Kimbro had to confront his mother’s liver cancer diagnosis in 2009. This challenging period, spanning 19 months, led him to advocate for his mother and exposed the harrowing reality that countless families endure in the healthcare system. Fueled by this painful experience, Kimbro founded a private law practice dedicated to assisting seniors in navigating healthcare complexities without succumbing to financial ruin.

In 2015, Kimbro joined the Jurist Law Group as Co-Founder and Managing Attorney, leveraging his extensive background to guide families through the labyrinth of long-term care, offering support in asset protection and estate planning. Through this, he discovered the universal need for such services, emphasizing that it’s not exclusive to wealthy families but a necessity for all striving to safeguard their assets.

Kimbro’s educational journey includes a cum laude Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Economics from Harvard University. His professional affiliations include memberships in the Arkansas Bar Association, National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, Academy of Special Needs Planners, and WealthCounsel. Admitted to the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1988, he also holds admissions to various U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.
