Firm Summary
Attorney Lance McCoy has practiced law in Georgia for over 25 years. Since 2003, Lance has worked alongside his wife, Sharon McCoy, at their family-owned Cartersville firm, The McCoy Law Firm, LLC. His work for Asset Protection & Elder Law of Georgia, a practice of the McCoy Law Firm, is rooted in his decades of trial court experience as both a private attorney and assistant district attorney for the Cherokee Judicial Circuit, where he prosecuted cases in Bartow and Gordon Counties. He is currently admitted to practice in the Georgia Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Superior Courts, including the municipal, juvenile, and probate courts. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Lance assists families going through Georgia probate after the loss of a loved one. He has years of experience with the basic probate process, as well as with handling disputes about inheritance. His goal is to bring his expertise and professionalism to bear in handling the probate court process for executors (or personal representatives) and family members. He understands that probate is not just a legal process, but also an emotional one — and he treats each client with compassion and dignity.
Lance is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and Elder Counsel.
