Born and raised in York, SC, Josh Mitchell attended school at York Comprehensive High School and was graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Modern Languages and Education.  After teaching French for a year in John’s Island, Mitchell was a member of the first class of Charleston Law where he was a student mentor and a member of the moot court board.

Admitted to the practice of law in South Carolina in 2008, he is a member of the South Carolina, York and Charleston County Bar Associations.    Josh Mitchell began his career in asbestos defense litigation, then worked on complex banking, mortgage and other corporate litigation in Charlotte, NC and Brussels, Belgium in both English and French.

Going into private practice in 2012, Mitchell began working with Bill Hancock, noted York County Attorney in 2013.   Mr. Hancock passed away in January, 2014 and Josh Mithcell has taken over his clients.  Josh is excited about his work in York County, and very focused on helping and working closely with fellow York County residents. .
