Firm Summary

I am Jeremy Ancil Wood and was born and raised in Campbellsville, Kentucky where I attended Taylor County High School. I then attended Eastern Kentucky University, where I graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Assets Protection Management magna cum laude in 2003. I then attended the University of Kentucky School of Law and graduated in 2006.

I returned to my home town to practice law, and have been practicing in Campbellsville and the surrounding Central Kentucky area since 2007. I have spent approximately 15 years practicing a wide variety of civil and criminal cases, and I have experience as a Plaintiff’s attorney, an insurance defense and subrogation attorney, as well as a criminal prosecutor and defense attorney.

I consider the practice of law an opportunity for servant leadership. I have tried to give back to my community by donating my time to various local civic organizations, but I hope that my real contribution is made in my legal practice. I seek to give pragmatic, honest, advice and to assist my clients in designing a plan to address their legal needs and to help execute that plan. Sometimes this is simple and sometimes it is very complex. I encourage my clients to seek advice before the problems actually arise, though it is often the case that clients do not do so.

Court is a place where justice is sought, and where we all hope that fairness exists. However, the law has numerous rules and requirements that do not always leave each party feeling that they got treated fairly. I believe this results from two primary facts: 1) the justice system is stressed by the number of cases pending at any given time, and it is difficult to give each case the attention the parties would like; 2) the justice system is by nature structured to be adversarial, which generally results in one party winning and the other party losing on any given issue. The judicial system is primarily a dispute resolution system, and is usually the last resort for society. However, court proceedings can be costly, and every risks receiving negative results in court. I have come to value other methods of resolving disputes when possible.

I am a strong believer in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and encourage my clients to control their destiny and seek out mediation and other methods of addressing their issues in addition to considering litigation. It is for these reasons that I am also beginning to offer mediation services in order to reduce the strain on the court system while still providing a means of efficiently resolving disputes.

I welcome the opportunity to provide quality legal services to Central Kentucky, and I am hopeful that I can be of service to you.
