The Charitable Gift Planners of Nebraska recognized Jeffery in 2008 with its Community Sowers Award for outstanding contributions to charitable giving. He has served in various leadership roles in many statewide charitable organizations, including as a past chairperson of the Lincoln Community Foundation.

Jeffery is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). ACTEC consisting of approximately 2,200 of the nation’s top estate and trust estate attorneys. Membership requires nomination review at the state and national levels, and election by the ACTEC Board of Regents. Jeffery is also a member of ACTEC’s Fiduciary Litigation, State Chairs Steering Committee, and the study committee for the Fiduciary Administration Committee. Jeffery currently serves as the Nebraska State Chair and the Regional Chair for the Heart of America Region consisting of the states of Nebraska , Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. He also currently serves as one of two Governors for the Heart of America Institute III tasked with developing and educating younger attorneys in the Trust and Estate practice.

Having obtained the highest possible rating by Martindale-Hubbell, Jeffery was recognized as a Top Rated Lawyer in Trusts and Estates. He was also selected by his peers to be listed on The Best Lawyers in America for Estate Planning and Real Estate Law since 2014.
