Experience
In 1983 he became the general counsel for the Nebraska State Racing Commission and served as a special Nebraska Assistant Attorney General. He prosecuted cases in eight counties in Nebraska and coordinated narcotics and criminal investigations with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. While assigned to the racing commission, he attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s national training academy. In 1987 he returned to the private practice of law focusing on civil litigation, business planning, and estate planning. Since 1988 he has served as a commissioner on the Nebraska State Racing Commission being appointed by Nebraska Governors Orr, Nelson, Johanns, Heineman and Ricketts. His gubernatorial appointments must also be confirmed by the Nebraska Legislature. His current term expires on March 30, 2023. In 2000 he was elected as the chairman of the Association of Racing Commissioners International, Inc., the regulatory agency for all pari-mutuel horse racing commissions throughout North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and Central America. He has been invited to speak at international meetings on topics including the constitutional aspects of administrative hearings, drug testing, and investigative processes and procedures in England, France, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. He serves as a member of the RCI International Model Rules Committee, the Drug Testing Standards and Practices Committee, and continues to serve on the RCI Board of Directors. Denny and his father, Don Lee a retired sportswriter from the Omaha World-Herald, have both been inducted into the Nebraska Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Since 1995 he has served, as appointed by the Omaha City Council, as the District 6 representative to the Board of Directors of the City of Omaha Cable Television Advisory Corporation. CTAC regulates the operations of the cable television franchisees in Omaha. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of Hearts United for Animals (HUA), a no kill national animal shelter headquarter in Auburn, Nebraska. Denny and Minnie, one of the office mascot dogs, were featured as the the March, 2016 calendar page in the 2016 “Hunks for HUA” fund raising calendar. Since 2006 he has served as an elected member of the Board of Directors (House of Delegates) of the Nebraska State Bar Association. He frequently testifies before various committees of the Nebraska legislature concerning pending legislation. He also serves on the Board of Directors of New Cassel, Inc., a leading senior living community in Omaha.

Education
He is an Omaha native, a graduate of Creighton Prep, Creighton University, and the Creighton University School of Law. He was a member of the intercollegiate speech and debate team and the NCAA golf team as an undergraduate at Creighton. He was a member of the Creighton Law Review while in law school. He was admitted to practice law in Nebraska in 1980 and Iowa in 1990. He has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice in Minnesota, California, and Kentucky and has handled litigation cases in those states.

Personal
Lee Law Office is the only certified dog friendly law firm in Omaha by Omaha.dog. Lee Law Office has two dog mascots, Minnie and Talulah, at the office everyday supervising client relations. Since 2006 he has been a certified high school and American Legion certified baseball umpire. He has been selected to umpire the American Legion area and district baseball tournaments in Nebraska each season since 2009. He is also an occasional song writer. He is a member of the award winning Old Smoke Wagon KCBS barbeque competition team that competes in contests throughout the Midwest. He is the proud father of three adult children and seven grandchildren.
