Mr. Lindsey joined the firm in 1995 and became a shareholder in 2001. He practices in federal and state taxation, general corporate and business law, in addition to estate planning and probate. Before entering law school, he practiced as a certified public accountant for three years. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1994 where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board. Mr. Lindsey received his L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1995.

Represented developers, owners, and property managers in structuring the organization of various companies engaged in the business of acquiring developing, leasing and managing shopping centers and other real estate development projects

Represented tax credit syndicator in acquisition of membership interest and limited partnership interest with historical tax credits and low income housing tax credits

Represented various lenders in connection with loans secured by the pledge of limited partnership interests or membership interests in connection with low income housing tax credit projects

Provided general estate planning services to numerous clients including preparing wills, trusts, family limited partnerships and various other estate planning methods

Serves as general counsel for the Auburn University Alumni Association

Represented clients in connection with the acquisition of real property from a real estate investment trust and from an industrial development board

Represented clients in connection with structuring like kind tax free exchanges of real property

Mr. Lindsey has spoken at numerous estate planning seminars. He has also spoken to the National Asphalt and Pavement Association regarding business succession planning.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Mr. Lindsey is involved in numerous community activities. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he serves as the vice chairman of the church’s finance committee. He also serves on the board of The Montgomery Academy and is the past alumni association president for the school. He is on the board of directors for the Family Guidance Center and the Montgomery YMCA (Southeast branch).
