BIOGRAPHY
Christine Hernandez proudly gives legal counsel to people from all walks of life. As a highly respected attorney, she has represented hundreds of individuals in state and federal courts during her legal career.

The founding member of Hernandez & Associates Law Firm, Christine has fought fearlessly and tirelessly to preserve and ensure equality in state and federal courts across Southeast Alabama. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers® for her outstanding work in criminal defense.

Beyond her significant trial and appellate practice, she is also registered on the Alabama State Court Mediator Roster with experience in assisting opposing parties settle their legal disputes outside of the courthouse.

Fighting for the People of Alabama
Christine is fearless in her pursuit of justice. She’s battled for the constitutional rights of her clients in capital murder defenses and appeals, disputed wrongful convictions in criminal cases, and appealed for compassionate releases from prison.

Christine has also been known to argue for judicial reform, opposing judges who abuse their power and influence across the state. She has frequently argued for the rights of juveniles and for juvenile probation reform in the southern counties of Alabama.

A Champion for Education
Christine has been an advocate for the rights of special education students, the fight against bullying and discrimination in schools, and protecting the employment rights of teachers and administrators against unfair school systems.

Drawing from her years of teaching and coaching experience, she has worked hard to level the playing field and strives to educate her clients and equalize justice for those clients the Hernandez and Associations Law Firm represents.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Christine had a respectable career in education, which included:

  • Becoming the first Nationally Board Certified K-12 teacher in Alabama.
  • Receiving the Middle School Teacher of the Year Award.
  • Teaching in the parochial school system, the Mobile County Public School System, and at the university level.
  • Working as an athletic trainer and teacher in the Education Department at the University of South Alabama and in the public school system in southern Alabama.
  • Frequently speaking for educational seminars across the state.

A Commitment to Community
Christine freely gives her time, knowledge, and experience to mentor countless attorneys and interns. She’s also served as a guest lecturer at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law and has traveled to speak at numerous continuing education seminars.

In addition to education, Christine has supported the community by coaching for nearly 30 years in a number of team and individual sports and in sponsoring individual school reading programs. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her spouse, children, and the five family dogs.

Graduated from Troy State University in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Sports Medicine.
Obtained her Master’s Degree in Education and Educational Leadership. (from University of Mobile and University of South Alabama
Graduated from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2006.
Admitted to the Alabama Bar in 2007.

In 2008, Christine opened her own law practice and the firm has grown significantly over the past 15 years. The Hernandez & Associates Law Firm educates the clients, the juries, and the communities in an effort to equalize the judicial process for those going to court, charged with crimes, or appealing court decisions.
