Settling in Colorado in 1972, I’ve found fulfillment not only in guiding clients through Will and Trust planning but also in savoring precious moments with my family, indulging in golf, travel, literature, movies, and actively participating in church activities.

Drawing from personal experiences, I have witnessed the repercussions of inadequate lifetime mental disability planning or death planning. In one instance, my wife and I assisted an elderly lady for over a decade, who, after suffering a stroke, faced short-term memory loss. Another client, aged only 54, endured a debilitating stroke, necessitating an expensive and emotionally taxing conservatorship court action due to lack of planning.
However, early steps can be transformative. I share the example of a neighbor with dementia who, thanks to proper preparation, had her disability trustee manage her affairs without court intervention. Similarly, my brother, facing a serious illness, organized his estate planning, ensuring his adult children would inherit according to his wishes.
