Mr. Chester received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bowdoin College, Brunswick Maine, in 1984. After several years with a Fortune 500 corporation working on Seventh Avenue in New York City, he earned his law degree from New York Law School, in 1991 where he was a member and editor of the New York Law School Journal of International and Comparative Law. Mr. Chester was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1991 and to the United States Tax Court in 1992. Mr. Chester is a cum laude graduate of Avon Old Farms School, Avon, Connecticut.
Mr. Chester is the author of several published articles including “Final Regulations Adopted: IRS Approves Disclaimers of Tenancy by the Entirety Property” and “The Proposed Regulation of Corporate Tender Offers in the European Community”. Mr. Chester has also lectured on estate planning, taxation and estate administration for various groups and Bar Associations.
He is a member of several professional organizations including the American, New Jersey and Summit Bar Associations. He has served on both the Trust Litigation and Controversy Committee and the Charitable Giving Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Taxation Section of the ABA and the New Jersey State Bar Association Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, where he has served as a member of the Durable Power of Attorney Sub-committee.
Mr. Chester has served as a Trustee for the Summit Speech School; as a member of the Avon Old Farms School National Council and is a former President of the Oak Knoll Property Owners Association in Mendham , NJ.
