Randy is a graduate of Kamiakin High School and grew up in the Tri-Cities. He received his Associate Arts degree from Columbia Basin College after which he transferred to Washington State University in Pullman, WA. Randy graduated with honors and a double major in history and sociology in 1995. After graduating college, Randy returned home to the Tri-Cities and took a year off during which he worked in the auto mechanic and construction fields. Randy then decided to pursue a career in law as recommended by his college counselors. Enjoying the small town college atmosphere, Randy decided to attend law school at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. Randy graduated with his JD from the University of Idaho in 2000. After a brief move to the Seattle area to study for and take the bar exam, Randy returned to the Tri-Cities where he began his career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Benton County Prosecutors office. Working as a prosecutor he gained valuable trial experience and prosecuted a wide variety of criminal offenses.

Randy’s experience as a Deputy Prosecutor exposed him to working with numerous local Defense attorneys. In 2002, after a little over a year as a Deputy Prosecutor, Randy was asked to enter private practice and was hired as an associate attorney at Armstrong, Klym, Waite, and Atwood. After only two years Randy became a partner with the firm and he has practiced with the firm since.
Randy is an active member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Benton Franklin Bar Association, and the Eastern District of Washington Federal Bar Association.

As a husband and father, he enjoys volunteering each year for 4H equine and equestrian events, including announcing equestrian events at the Benton-Franklin County Fair. Randy also enjoys working on automotive projects, which has been a lifelong hobby of his, with his father who was an automobile mechanic for his entire career.
