Susan Marie Allspach (nee Gertz) is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science. During her collegiate experience, she also studied the French language abroad in Tours, France in conjunction with the Penn Abroad program. She completed her legal studies at Capital University Law School (Columbus), and is licensed by the Ohio Bar. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Government service has also been a part of Mrs. Allspach’s professional life. She served as the City Solicitor for the City of Loveland from 1997 to 2000, and thereafter joined the staff of the City of Hamilton Law Department from 2000 to 2002. Finally, from 2002 to 2004, she served as an Assistant County Prosecutor in the Civil Litigation Division of the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. During her tenures with these various governments, Mrs. Allspach also continued her private practice at Gertz Law Firm, concentrating mainly in civil litigation.
With the prolife cause close to her heart, Mrs. Allspach has also spent a good deal of her professional life since 1998, devoted to advancing that cause. From 2002 to 2010, she served as the executive director of a small but national nonprofit organization focused on providing legal and other charitable and volunteer assistance to women who are victims of abortion malpractice. She has spoken nationally on both television and radio about this issue, and has also participated in various prolife lobbying projects at the Ohio state level.
Mrs. Allspach is a member of the National Lawyers Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Clermont County Bar Association, the Warren County Bar Association, the St. Thomas More Law Society of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, the Reading Chamber of Commerce, the Reading Historical Society, the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance, and the Loveland Historical Society. Additionally, she has been active in the Reading community, serving as the President of the Reading Bridal District Board of Directors from 2008 to 2012. Currently, she is a member of the City of Loveland’s Law and Ordinance Committee. She and her husband Greg and her two step-children reside in Loveland and are members of St. Columban Catholic Parish. In her spare time, she enjoys ballroom/salsa/west coast swing dancing, reading, walking, travel, pilates reformer, weight training, gardening, and her two rescue dogs.
Mrs. Allspach concentrates her practice on family law and divorce, dissolution, custody, shared parenting, child support, spousal support, post-divorce decree and parenting plan modifications, probate administration, estate planning, wills and trusts, and small business formation/transactions.
