Biography

Attorney David Slepian was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1982, to appear in U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, in 1985, and to appear in the U.S. Supreme Court in 1990. He holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and an A.B. from Brown University. He is currently the President of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (CTNAELA), and has been a Board Member since 2011. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is also a member of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association and a past chair (1995-1996) of the Tax Committee of that body.

He has authored numerous articles on topics in Elder Law, Estate Planning, Trusts, and Estate and Gift Taxation, listed below. He has been a featured speaker, most recently for CTNAELA on “Tax Planning Run Down-Including Estate Tax, Basis Adjustment, Trusts and More”, and for the Fairfield County Bar Association on “Estate Planning During and After a Divorce”.

He is a past president of both the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield and the Brown University Club of Fairfield County. Other civic involvement includes service on the Town of Fairfield Board of Assessment Appeals (2010-2011), the Town of Fairfield Public Library Building Committee (2004-2007), the Town of Fairfield Charter Revision Commission (2006), and the Board of Trustees for the Fairfield Public Library (1998-2004).
