Firm Summary
Scott Rothman, a partner with the firm, is a dependable adviser and accomplished litigator. In his view, the only way to solve a legal dilemma is to start by asking the right questions. Whether in the role of consultant or advocate, he helps people and companies understand how the law provides answers, and what to do when the answer isn’t clear.
Scott founded the firm’s real estate practice, encompassing both litigation and transactional matters. Through his work on behalf of the major title underwriters, he has developed the tools to get deals done right, and to cure deals gone wrong. In the courtroom, his track record for unwinding frauds and resolving property disputes has earned him accolades as one of Pennsylvania’s premier real estate litigators.
Scott is also licensed as a title agent and settlement officer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and manages the firm’s affiliated title companies, Spring Mill Settlement Services and Starboard Title. You can learn more about his title and closing services by visiting www.springmilltitle.com and www.starboardtitle.agency.
While Scott devotes the bulk of his practice to real estate engagements, he and his team also sustain a general civil practice across the Greater Philadelphia region, including South Jersey. In that capacity, he counsels business owners and individuals, and offers commercial and personal litigation services.
Prior to attending law school, Scott served with AmeriCorps for two years working in construction for Habitat for Humanity in North Philadelphia, and then taught public high school for a year in the same neighborhood. Scott maintains his interest in education through coaching mock trial students, lecturing at Villanova Law School on the subject of real property, and conducting seminars for attorneys and title professionals. Most recently, Scott presented a CLE seminar for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on the subject of joint ventures in real estate.
When not in the courtroom or classroom, Scott enjoys outdoor activities with his children, spicy food, and sailing.
