After spending his first year of university in Ottawa while working in the House of Commons, Rich returned to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan to complete his education (B.A. in 1991; LL.B in 1994) and to play Huskies Football. Upon graduation from law school, Rich spent the first two and half years of his legal career with the City of Saskatoon Solicitor’s Office. After that, he built his own legal business in association with two Saskatoon firms.

In January of 2008, Rich launched Gabruch Legal Group as a full-service law firm where he continues to service a diverse array of local, provincial, national, and international clients in many areas of the law. Projects he has worked on include basic Will and estate planning for families, criminal charges ranging from assault to frauds over $1,000,000, numerous divorce files, millions of dollars of real estate transactions, small claims lawsuits and major lawsuits with damage claims over $50,000,000, and a variety of business matters including intergenerational transfers, sales, contract advising, collaborating with accountants to best strategize for corporate succession and tax matters etc., and also is a registered CFL player agent​

Rich has appeared before all levels of the Saskatchewan Courts (including the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal), and in courts in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario, and before boards and administrative tribunals.

Having been raised in a big active family, Rich has served on boards and foundations ranging from a seniors’ home board of directors to being on the national board of the Children’s Wish Foundation, coached basketball, soccer, and hockey, and has been a candidate for Member of Parliament on two occasions. He has been recognized with awards and honours as diverse as the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012) and for quarterbacking one of the top 100 moments in University of Saskatchewan Huskies’ athletics first century of sports.

Rich prioritizes his children as number one and enjoys every minute he can spend with them and his wife.
