Mr. Boyle is a partner in Clifford & Brown, with the longest tenure in the firm’s business department. He was born in San Tomé, Venezuela. Mr. Boyle joined the firm in 1985, after practicing for seven years in the San Diego area.
Mr. Boyle graduated in 1984 from the University of San Diego with an LLM in tax law. He obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1978 from California Western School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, was a member and Lead Articles Editor for the International Law Journal, and was the lead advocate for the school’s Jessup Moot Court Competition Team. In 1975 he obtained his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara in political science, with an emphasis in urban regional government.
Mr. Boyle’s practice is focused primarily on tax sensitive matters such as business formations, business transactions, estate planning, estate (probate and trust) administration, and real property sales. In addition to this general business practice, he also handles both probate and tax litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Boyle was a partner with a law firm in north San Diego County, and also served an internship with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in San Diego.
Mr. Boyle previously served as President of the Probate Section for the Kern County Bar Association. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Kern County Bar Association, and the Christian Legal Society.
From 1994 to 2002, Mr. Boyle was a member of the Planning Commission for the City of Bakersfield, and he served as Chairman of the Planning Commission in 2001. He is currently on the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army (Bakersfield Council). He is also an active member of various church ministries.
