• Matt graduated from McDaniel College in 2003 with a degree in English, and he received his law degree from the University of Baltimore in 2006. Prior to joining Shaffer and Shaffer, Matt clerked for Judge William O. Carr, and then worked in private practice for fifteen years as a partner at Love, Fleming, Bearsch & Hurff, LLC. Matt and his family live in Carroll County. He is involved in the sports and activities of his children, and coaches baseball with the Hampstead Lions Club. Matt has been honored by SuperLawyers magazine each year from 2019 through 2022.
