Von Limbaugh is the founder and owner of The Limbaugh Law Firm, LLC. He specializes in elder law, wills, trusts, estate planning, special needs law, and tax planning. With over twenty years of experience, he is known for his commitment and care to his clients. He takes pride in guiding clients through challenging situations and empowering his clients to protect their rights and assets.
Some of his cases include:
- Protecting a family’s inheritance of nearly $1 million from a stepparent
- Protecting a senior from mail fraud and bank scams
- Protecting a widow from her stepchildren who wanted to remove her from her home;
- Helping a family plan for the care of an adult child with special needs once the parents are no longer able to;
- Establishing Guardianships and Conservatorships that protect the individual’s needs and rights;
- Challenging rogue Agents and Fiduciuries;
- Ensuring hospitals and medical professionals respect your Advance Directives.
Limbaugh earned his J.D. from the University of Denver, receiving the prestigious Aaron Goldfarb Memorial Scholarship. Additionally, Mr. Limbaugh earned a postgraduate Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Denver, one of the top-ranked tax law programs in the United States. His professional publications include Basic Probate Procedures and Practice in Colorado (NBI 2003) and The Probate Process for Colorado Paralegals: From Start to Finish (IPE 2002).
He is a regular contributor to NBI (National Business Institute), teaching an online continuing education course for other attorneys. Additionally, he was selected to be on the Aurora Judicial Performance Commission in 2018.
Limbaugh is an active member of the Aurora Bar Association, currently serving as Secretary; the Colorado Bar Association, the Disability, Trusts and Estates, and Elder Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association. He is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of Colorado, the United States District Court for Colorado, and the United States Tax Court. Mr. Limbaugh is seen as a legal community resource and has taught several Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses.
In addition to his passion for educating, supporting, and protecting his clients, Mr. Limbaugh has a busy family life. A former foster parent and now adoptive parent, Mr. Limbaugh has learned first-hand the importance of thoughtful and informed planning for the unknown. His personal experiences have provided opportunities to learn about protecting those with mental and physical disabilities.
As a result, Mr. Limbaugh is active in the special needs community serving on the board of ARC of Colorado and ARC of Aurora and supporting his son in Special Olympics. During the 2011 legislative session, he drafted language for a bill that would ensure family caregivers can serve as both guardians and conservators.
Likewise, in 2012, he advocated for and helped draft the amendment language for a Bill securing a hearsay exception for developmentally disabled crime victims.
